Technology Enhanced Classrooms

The Instructional Network maintains most of the Technology Enhanced Classrooms on all campuses of UMASS Lowell.
The goal of the university is to continue to increase the number of Tier 1 classrooms on campus.  The goal of the
Instructional Network is to ensure that technology integration in teaching and learning is easily accessible.  Technology
Enhanced Classroom Tier designations are as follows:
 
Tier 1 Classrooms
  • Podium or Teaching Station
  • MediaLink Control System – networked
  • Document/Graphics Camera
  • Integrated sound with speakers
  • Laptop Connection with audio and network
  • Teaching Computer
  • DVD playback capability
  • LCD Projector or LCD Flatscreen


Tier 1+ Classrooms

  • Standard Configuration
  • Addition of Smart Sympodium hardware


Tier 2 Classrooms

  • LCD Projector or LCD Flatscreen
  • MediaLink Control System
  • Wall jack for Video/audio and VGA/audio
  • Network Access


Tier 3 Classrooms

  • LCD Projector or LCD Flatscreen
  • Wall jack for video/audio and/or VGA/audio

Tier 4 Classooms

  • TV monitor and cart
  • VCR/DVD player
  • No installed LCD projector or flatscreen

Tier 5 Classrooms

  • Whiteboard or Blackboard
  • No installed LCD projector or flatscreen
