A
key element of Ready to Teach
is the Technology Integration Laboratory
at the Graduate School of Education. This state-of-the-art
multimedia environment will be available to faculty, preservice
teachers, and cooperating teachers to design and produce instructional
materials for university and K-12 teaching. The Lab will provide
an informal drop-in site to explore and create technology
integrated instructional materials.
The Lab has ten individual workstations ( 6 iMac DVse's & 3
Sony RX-260 DS's ). The Lab is also equipped with the following
items:
- Color Scanner
- Color Printer
- 1.44M Floppy Drive
- 100M Zip Drive
- DVD Drive
- CD-RW Writer
- USB and Firewire ports
Although each workstation is capable of Digital Video editing, two stations are also equipped with a VCR and media converter, which allows us to convert older VHS video to digital video.
In addition to the color scanners we also can provide you with digital video and still cameras. The Lab has 2 Sony Mavica digital still cameras and 2 Sony TRV-11 Mini-DV video cameras that also take wonderful still pictures.
To assist you in your creative needs we have a number of multimedia
programs loaded on six stations:
- Photoshop Elements for graphic and image editing.
- DreamWeaver 4 for web page design.
- IMovie & Videowave for video editing.
- Direct CD & Toaster for CD-ROM creation.
- MS PowerPoint for presentations.
For your educational needs six stations have:

Other programs loaded onto the video workstations are:

All stations have Microsoft Office installed. If you do not see something on this list you think you may need, let us know. We need your suggestions as to what other curriculum based software you will need in order to complete your specific project(s).
