Happy New Year!

We are anxiously awaiting news from the U. S. Department of Education as to our funding renewal status for fiscal year 2003. All indications, thus far, have given us confidence that we will receive the third year of grant money so that we can finish up the work of the Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology program. During the third year, we would like to continue working with electronic portfolios in order to modify the technology integration requirements for all preservice teachers at University of Massachusetts Lowell Graduate School of Education.

Many of our current design teams will have a new preservice teacher joining them for the Spring 2002 semester. Those teams that hosted a preservice teacher in the fall benefited greatly from their relationship. Each had something to teach the other. Our next big Design Team Forum meeting will be held on Monday, February 4, 2002 in Read Hall.

I will be changing and adding new resources helpful to teachers in the New Year. Please click on the resource section on the left hand side of the home page to see what has changed. In addition, check the upcoming list of multimedia workshops and sign up if you have not already done so. If you have an idea for a workshop you would like to attend but is not currently offered, contact John Wren at John_Wren@uml.edu or call him at 978-934-4653. Anything can be arranged!
