UTeach UMass Lowell prepares science, math, computer science, and engineering (STEM) majors for a career in teaching while completing their undergraduate degree. Through our innovative program, students develop conceptual teaching skills and practice these methods in local K-12 classrooms. This begins the moment students register for the first UTeach course – STEP 1!
UTeach is a nationally acclaimed program developed at the University of Texas Austin, and has been replicated around the country. UMass Lowell is the only university in New England to be part of highly successful national network.
UTeach UMass Lowell offers a unique opportunity for students to earn a degree in their content area AND a Massachusetts state teaching license.

PBI (Project Based Instruction) students presented the units of work they developed this semester and taught to high school students. Their units included field trips in conjunction with the Tsongas Industrial History Center.
